Anyone even remotely familiar with Super Mario knows that Mario has a signature catchphrase in which he announces and introduces himself: “It’s a-me, Mario!” There are probably very few people in the world who wouldn’t recognize those words and be able to identify what they’re from. This version of the meme makes it a question instead of a statement, with Mario, in the style of Super Mario 64, looking rather shocked at the idea of this other version being a-him.

The funniest uses of the “Is this a pigeon?” meme are definitely when a movie, television show, or video game has a line trying to identify something and the meme format uses that line. In this case, it’s the ever-famousSuperman line, in which onlookers on the ground try to identify the flying Superman with “It’s a bird! It’s a plane!” This meme has adjusted the format a little bit so that the character appears twice, both pointing out the flying Superman in the middle that has replaced the butterfly.

Himiko Toga is a villainous character from My Hero Academia. But she doesn’t really act like a traditional villain most of the time. She’s very perky and friendly, and she seems to think that she’s actually friends with a lot of the heroes and UA students that she’s usually attacking. In fact, she kind of seems to think attacking them makes them even closer friends, and she likes people best when fighting them, as shown in this meme.
7 Is This A Wanted Criminal?
Parents who didn’t grow up with the internet can sometimes have certain opinions about the things that happen on it. They feel nervous about their kids using it because they could be talking to anyone at all, and while that’s definitely true, the connections people make online can be real and important, like having a best friend in another part of the world who really understands them. But that won’t stop parents from assuming everyone is getting tricked by a dangerous person all the time, like in this dark meme.
6 Is This The Real Life?
One of the funniest ways of using a meme format is to edit it so that it looks like something completely different. The maker of this meme has done just that, adding three more faces to the meme and an extra hand to replicate the look of the music video for Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The text then references the lyric from the song: “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?” The question is answered here as definitely “just fantasy.”

There is so much going on in this meme that it’s almost hard to figure out where to start with it. This is another meme that references another meme, particularly the “It’s free real estate!” sketch from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!

It’s probably always going to be the case that parents don’t always get what their kids are into, even when they try really hard to connect with them by showing an interest in the things that they like. For kids who are into Pokémon, the situation shown in this meme is probably a regular occurrence. Because Pikachu is the most well-recognized Pokémon and can be seen just about everywhere, it would be easy to assume that every Pokémon looks exactly like it.

Castlevania actually has its own notable meme. Symphony of the Night, considered by many to be the best game in the Castlevania series, features a specific line from Dracula. The famous vampire character is seen here replacing the usual face on the meme, asking what a man is. He comes up with the answer that a man is just “a miserable little pile of secrets.” The line has become a meme in its own right, often referenced online.

Patrick Star from Spongebob Squarepants is well known for misidentifying objects, being generally unhelpful in pretty much every situation, and making very specific puns that only work in a show like Spongebob.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is one of the most influential anime and manga out there. It’s been around for decades, and there are so many versions of the bizarre and unique anime. It’s also regularly referenced in other anime, showing its influences on other anime and manga creators. This meme has done exactly that, giving the character a Jojo style pose and changing the art style to look more like the muscular and dramatically dressed characters of Jojo.
