Ingredients Needed for No Flour Passover Brownies

We like to keep the ingredients simple for our Passover Dessert recipes. There is already enough to worry about that you don't need more recipes with hard to find ingredients. You only need six ingredients to make these super delicious brownies:

  • Unsweetened Hershey cocoa powder - this is the base of the chocolate brownie.
  • Chocolate chips - gives the gluten free brownie its gooey insides and intense chocolate flavor.
  • Potato starch - helps to keep the brownie together instead of almond flour. Using the starch instead of flour also makes the brownie a little bit lighter.
  • White granulated sugar - for sweetness.
  • Oil - this recipe uses safflower oil instead of coconut oil or ¼ cup butter.
  • Eggs - binder for the other ingredients and also adds fluffiness to the recipe.

We Love This Recipe Because It Is...

  • Dairy free - Most of the festive Passover meals are meat meals like The Best Oven Slow Cooked Brisket, Whole Roast Chicken and Quick Passover Chicken Marsala. This is the perfect pareve dessert.
  • Gluten free - on Passover we cannot eat leaven (or chometz) so we don't use regular flour. That means that flourless recipes like this one are naturally gluten free!
  • Only uses 6 ingredients
  • Easy to make - this is as close to a one pan recipe as you will get for a fudgy gooey Passover dessert. Just follow the simple steps below:

Step 2 - Bake the brownies.

Pour the gluten free brownie batter into a pregreased 9x13 inch baking pan or baking dish and bake for 25 minutes at 350ºF. Cool completely in the baking dish (and not on a wire rack) before serving. Cut into 2-3 inch squares to serve.

Recipe Pro Tip

After 25 minutes, check to see if the brownies are done by inserting a toothpick into the center. You want some of the batter to come off onto the toothpick but you don't want it to be liquidy. Check for a thick chocolate pudding consistency and not raw batter.
