How do You Crochet crochet christmas blankets?

There are many ways you can make a festive Christmas crochet blanket customized for your own home. Of course, you can find patterns specifically designed for Christmas (which I’ll show you lots of soon!)

But if you want a simple Christmas blanket, an easy way is to find ANY simple pattern, and use Christmas colors! You can even use a basic stitch like half double crochet and create a blanket by making a large rectangle with stripes of red and green.

There are also different styles of blankets you can make:

  • Granny square Christmas blankets
  • Christmas crochet throws (these are smaller blankets, perfect for your lap)
  • Colorwork Christmas blankets (may be made from C2C or regular stitches)
  • Simple striped blankets

I’ll be showing you patterns for all these styles soon!

Yarn You’ll Need to Make Blankets

Generally speaking, the best yarn weight for making blankets is worsted weight. Some of my personal favorites include Lion Brand Heartland, Vanna’s Choice, and Caron Simply Soft.

However, if you’re following a specific pattern, make sure to refer to the materials section to see what yarn is recommended.
